Change-Work

Conflicts and problems are a call for change — a confusing and delayed process when it feels like too much to handle alone or when we don’t know how to proceed.  I provide experienced, compassionate and affirming guidance for individuals and couples going through difficult times.  Change-Work begins as you share with me the parts of your life or relationship story that are problematic, and what you intend or imagine are the desired outcomes of our work together.  I consider your circumstances – long or short-term difficulties; personality; strengths; support system, along with the degree of discontent and incongruity between your past, current and projected-future goals and stability.  The therapeutic orientations and modalities that best suit your unique needs and concerns determine how we work together.  Frequently, I suggest new practices for you to employ between sessions that support progress toward desired outcomes for a fuller and happier life.  Your feedback as we interact is essential to a positive collaborative relationship.

Specialty Areas include; couples and individuals in relationship trouble; unresolved difficult childhood issues; recovering nice girls in love and life; illness & disability; grief & loss; as well as stress, depression, anxiety and fears that inhibit your abilities to fully function in your life or relationship.  I enjoy a balance between psychotherapy and counseling clients.  Clients are from diverse backgrounds and life styles, and include other therapists and health care professionals in distress. These and other areas in which I have knowledge and experience are listed below:
